QBFC7 and Aus/NZ QB 2009-2010
« on: May 08, 2009, 04:25:03 AM »

Hi

I was hoping someone would post back whether they have used the Intuit QBFC7 successfully with Aus/NZ QB 2009-2010

We have an app interface that was successfully working with the Aus/NZ QB 2008-2009 (trial or live - both works) and QBFC7 no problem.

But with QB 2009-2010, QBFC7 does not recognize 2009-2010 as a valid running QuickBooks program???

I'm wondering if it is just something with my installation (I've got a trial of the QB 2009-2010 Premier installed to test this with) or if it is just doing this because it is a trial of QB 2009-2010 Premier

Any responses yeah or no would be appreciated.

Thank you

Joyce

Hello

We have successfully used QBFC7 with QBi 2008-2009, 2009-2010 and 2010-2011.  It will no longer run with QBi 2011-2012.

We have successfully run QBFC7 with both Trial and Full versions of Premier and Premier Enterprise.

If you could send a copy of the XML file that is created using the QBFC and/or the exact error message, I may be able to assist you more.

Hi Andrew

This was posted a few years ago now. I apologize for not posting back what the issue was to resolve.
The issue  was because there was originally a different version of QuickBooks on the computer (US and Canadian before the Aus was installed) which caused massive headache. Ended up doing the following:
Uninstall all QB products via Add/remove Programs
Reboot
Open Windows Explorer and manually delete all QB folders - in C:\Program Files\Intuit and C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intuit
Reboot
Then regedit and do a find for all instances of "QuickBook" and delete, and do a find for all instances of "Intuit" and delete.
Reboot
Now install Aus/NZ QB , and QBFC7, and now the interface with our custom program runs no issue.

BUT can you please confirm your statement "It will no longer run with QBi 2011-2012."

It was my understanding that 2008/09 - 2011/12 uses qbXML version 6.1  which is compatible with QBFC7? Has this now changed for QBi 2011/2012?

Can you point me towards details why not compatible, what has changed? and what is specifically needed to be compatible?
We have a interface that is used with businesses around the world, with Canadian QuickBooks, US QuickBooks, UK QuickBooks and Aus/NZ QuickBooks and this is HUGE if not compatible.

Thank you

Hello

I realized the age of the post _after_ I pressed POST, but at least I gave some additional information that was helpful to you (and perhaps others).

In our experiences so far, the same version of the QBXML (6.1) is used for Australia and New Zealand, but it seems that QBFC8 is necessary to integrate with Reckon's QBi 2011/12.

It is a simple and straight-forward migration.  Simply install the QBFC8, reassign your references in your project files, recompile and away you go.

On the client-side, simply install the QBFC8 installer (QBFC7 may coexist happily along-side QBFC8) and update the library that originally had the old reference in your upgrade process.  I have found QBFC8 compatible with 2009/10 and 2010/11, so far, at least.  So I made the decision to not fork my development but to update all QBFC code to QBFC8.

I do not have any specific references other than experience, sorry.  I assume it has something to do with the COM compatibility as the errors I received were COM errors.  These COM errors disappeared when I updated to QBFC8.

Hope this helps
