RESC Amounts
« on: February 17, 2010, 01:27:45 PM »

Hi There

I've just done some research on the reportable employee super contributions (RESC) that came in as of 1 July 2009.  We are a not for profit, and have had a long standing agreement with staff that the fringe benefits received does not effect superannuation.  This difference is above the 9% required superannuation, however as the employee has no influence over the contribution we decided that it should not be included as a RESC amount.

However, trying to get this to reflect in Quickbooks has been quite a problem.  We were hoping that we could untick the RESC box for each employee so it did not add anything into the RESC box, and then anyone that had salary sacrificed super we would override this field in the payment summaries at year end.

We are a bit stuck on how to do this, as it appears the payment summaries are hard coded and can't be changed.  The only work around is to change the YTD adjustments for those people with SS.

Has anyone else come across this, and what have then done to get it working effectively in QuickBooks?

Thanks

Carrie
