Hey all,

I currently run a 3 licence copy of Quickbook premier edition 2009/2010 and also Retail POS in my retail outleton windows XP. I am wondering if i can install a Quickbooks premier edition 2009/2010 and Retail POS on a iPad to give me the associated freedom with sales o at expos etc...? any ideas info out there?

Our inital copy of Quickbooks lets us have 5 installations. When you install it usually give a warning about not installing that particalar licence on more then 5 computers. Once you have exceeded the 5 licences you will need to purchase another set of licences. 

Any restrictions would result in you not being able to activate that particular install.

Both QB Premier and Retail POS are Windows only; they list "Microsoft® Windows XP/Vista/7" in their system requirements, so unfortunately they won't run on an iPad.

Very soon you will see Quickbooks Online for iPad/iPhone/Safari. At least you can access your Quickbooks from anywhere then if you transfer it to Online.

The only issue there is with the POS you would need to manually import the end of day files.

At least at trade shows or anywhere in the world 24/7 you could open Quickbooks and transact on your iPad.

QuickBooks Online AU (QuickBooks hosted by Reckon Online) is now available via an iPad/Mac. Reckon POS online sync is currently in development and should be available mid-year 2011.
