QuickBooks Plus 2010/11 crashes when using simplified BAS/IAS

My QuickBooks Plus 2010/11 crashes when trying to use the simplified BAS/IAS report. I never had this problem until upgrading from the 2009/10 version.

This is how far I get:   Reports > Tax > Simplified BAS/IAS > Config > (it then lets me enter Document ID and the Quarter) >  OK >(it now starts reading the transactions and after a couple of seconds a windows message comes up "QuickBooks has stopped working".

Can anyone help with a solution.

Thanks a lot!

You may want to contact support as it appears there might be a few bugs with the BAS section of the new upgrade, see the previous post.

Thanks for that Carrie, much appreciated.

As I am not an ADVANTAGE member anymore, I may have to wait until another user has the same problem and perhaps posts the answer as to how to fix it. In the meantime I used the Tax Liability Report (which reports correctly) to do my BAS.

Even though somewhat concerned and a little disappointed about possible "BUGS" in the new version, I still think its the greatest accounting program, because of it's simplicity and user friendliness.

Kind regards

When right clicking on the QuickBooks icon on desktop and checking 'Target' it seems to have installed in the same folder as the 2009/10 version.

..phoned Quicken support about problem @ $4.90 per minute, they told me to remove the new version and reinstall it in a new folder.

Anyone know how to go about it? I cannot find a 'how to' in the installation manual. According to Intuit it should solve my problem of crashing when trying to use the simplified BAS report.

Thank you

You probably need to do a clean install.  This is the email I received when I was requested to do a clean install.

Subject: To perform a clean install or a clean uninstall

To perform a clean install or a clean uninstall;

1. Click the Start button and then select Control Panel:

Microsoft Windows XP:

a. Double-click Add/Remove Programs
b. Select QuickBooks in the list of programs, and then click Remove
c. Follow the instructions to remove QuickBooks
2. Manually remove the following QuickBooks installation folders:

Note: Removing the entire Intuit folder will also remove all of the sub folders that are contained within it. Your installation folders may appear differently depending on the version or versions of QuickBooks installed on your computer.

Windows XP/2000:

QuickBooks (Pro, Premier, Enterprise Solutions):

a. C:\Program Files\Intuit
b. C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intuit
c. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Intuit
d .C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Common Files\Intuit
e. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents (Shared Documents)\Intuit

Windows XP/2000:
- C:\Program Files\Intuit

If the Application Data or Program Data folder are not visible:

Windows XP:

1.   Right-click on the Start button and select Explore
2.   Select the Tools menu and then select Folder Options
3.   Click the View tab, and then under Advanced Settings, select the Show hidden files and folders checkbox
4.   Click OK

Once QuickBooks is completely removed from your system, you may proceed with a new installation.
