Emailing a batch of sales receipts

I have just started to do this, this month, and when I go to send forms - sales receipts, it brings up a window trying to send to email, and then I get the error and QB shuts down. How does QB know where to go for the email? I have outlook express and it works with Excel and word, what is different with QB.
