Dissappearing Report Description in QBi 09/10
« on: May 31, 2009, 09:56:30 PM »

Mine is a micro-business, with accounts kept on a Cash basis.

When I generate a report of Asset Purchases using tax code CAG as the filter the 'Description' column lists the 'Memo' field on Write Cheques page for the purchase. This is fine for listing the new assests, except for two oddities:

1. The report is automatically produced on an Accrual basis and if I modify it to Cash it produces a nonsense list.

2. This is the more frustrating. The Description list dissappears in Print Preview and fails to print, although the column heading remains. The detail does not export to Excel either. To see the detail again I have to close that report and re-generate it.

This, so far in my trials, only happens with CAG based reports.  Any clues?

I have found the workaround to both of the problems, but have no idea why it should be this way.

Edit / Preferences
Reports & Graphs
Company Preferences
Default Reporting

The default reporting for TAX is Net. If this is changed to Gross the report prints as it should, with either Accrual or Cash ticked. And it exports to Excel.

It works, but anyone have any idea why?
