help with entering split income
« on: August 19, 2010, 10:02:27 PM »

Hi there I am looking for some help with entering income correctly.

I own and run the local general store. we have a few sources of income from, store sales, petrol, Aus post, and we also run the local holiday homes, where we manage for a commission, the letting of holiday homes in the local area. The rent for the homes gets paid into our store bank account, then i take out the owners money paying them and leaving our commission, this is where i need help. How am i best to treat this? and how do i show this and enter it in? I would like to have it all set up so i can show each house individually, with sub accounts? as we manage 30 homes. Am I best to treat these as completely separate businesses? and have a different set of accounts for the store and managing the holiday homes?
Any help with this would be appreciated
