Can someone please help me
I have had to resort to the people of this forum for help. I have been handed a $30,000 bill from the ATO all because Quickbooks some how changed the gst owing on 1 product out of the 2000 products we sell in our business to the ATO owing us a $251 refund on each item we sold of that product

I am the administrator of Quickbooks pro so I am the only one with access to the program and the password. The product was a flavoured milk it scanned correctly at $2.90 it was entered in quickbooks at that price the tax code was GST and it went to GST sales.
everything was scanning okay until overnight some how it changed from a tax payable of 28.5 cents payable to a refund of $254.00 no other items were affected only this one item.
Quickbooks officials response was the file became corrupt (what an easy way out) but how I asked  because it is not connected to the internet basically they did not want to know about it your problem you ware it I have had forensic accountants out from the ATO who examined it and cannot offer me a plausible explaination they have never come accross anything like it.The GST cannot be manipulated its either a gst or non gst product
Now I am angry because we have been hit with this huge bill through nothing we have done we are in danger of losing our business cannot get help from Reckon, all I want someone to tell me how this could have occured why it occured will it happen again and am I entitled to seek compensation.
I hope people who read this can understand my frustation and put themselves in my place and be asking the same questions. thank you for reading my topic

I would highly recommend you get legal advice to find out what you can do, if your resulting bill is this much it might be worth it.

Would be very interested on an update of your progress.
